You could own a piece of history in Maryland. Homes around the National Park Seminary are up for sale. A Japanese pagoda, a Swiss chalet, and an American bungalow are among the Maryland historical homes for sale.

The homes were originally used as sorority houses, which were built for the women attending the National Park Seminary. At the turn of the century, the seminary was used mainly as a finishing school for women. The unique sorority houses built around the campus were meant to represent different countries and teach the women about the world.

During the Great Depression, the property was turned over to the military. Many of the lavish furnishings were sold at auction. National Park Seminary preservationist, Bonnie Rosenthal, has been working tirelessly to bring the homes around the seminary back to life.

Rosenthal made a call for help to David Vos, Development Project Manager with Alexander Company. Vos's company agreed to sell the homes in order to preserve their history. The homes need renovations, but at $315,000 to $425,000, they are worth putting the work into.

In addition to the unique homes for sale around the seminary, there are modern, completely renovated condominiums available. The condos offer restored historic elements along with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, and stunning hardwood floors. They are located on a peaceful 13-acre glen and provide direct access to the walking and biking trails at Rock Creek Park.
